Bhagavad Gita Online Class 65

A study of the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad about the two paths that beings take after their deaths: the path of light and the path of darkness (chapter 8 verses 23 to 28)

• The first path of fire, light, day, the bright (half of the month) and the six months of the northern path (of the Sun).

•The second path of smoke, night, so also the dark (half of the month), the six months of the southern part (of the Sun).

•Why one who has won over time and one who has gone beyond time goes on the path of fire.

•Why Ravishankar Maharaj says in his His commentary Gita Bodhvani that if a person lives their lives according to the leadership of a pure person such as a Saint, a wise person, a knowledgeable person or a Guru then he does not have to return again.

•Why if one has gone on their journey at the time of light then no obstacles come, the journey becomes complete straightforwardly and one can reach their goal.

•How the six months of the northern path (of the sun) is the feeling of making efforts for others.

•Why day is a symbol for activity. When the day begins and the Sun rises then all the activities begin.

•Why smoke is a symbol for falsity, delusion and illusion.

•The story of how the moon came to being.

•The meaning of the word Yogi in verses 24 and 25.

•Why in religions when you initially get the light of Sattya (Truth) or the light of any path then it is initially very radiant, but when it is diluted and mixed then it loses it meaning completely.

•A study of the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad about the two metaphorical paths that beings take after their deaths: the path of light and the path of darkness.

•How to remain firm in Yoga: in any circumstances be they favourable or unfavourable circumstances, you should not change your path; rather you should make the right use of both paths and always remain in a state of firm even mindedness.

•Why a Yogi is a balanced personality.

•Conclusion of chapter 8.
