Jai ShreeKrushna!

Class 68: Building the foundations of shradha (faith): a study of the works of Shrimad Adi Shankracharya and Shrimad Ramanunjacharya (chapter 9 verses 3 to 6)
  • The two choices we have in life: attaining liberation or returning to the cycle of mortal living.
  • Shankracharyaji's and Ramanunjacharyaji's commentary on the meaning of a person who is ashradhadhānā (one who has no faith).
  • A study of how a musky deer realised that true good fragrance comes from within.
  • A study of the Yajur Ved about how faith is the most important thing needed on the path of bhakti (devotion).
  • The importance of taking opportunities.  Swami Ramsukhdas' example of a person inside a town with high walls on all four sides.
  • The relationship between the manifest and non-manifest forms of the Supreme Soul.  Why the Gita uses the terms manifest and non-manifest next to each other.
  • How everything in the world is pervaded by the Supreme Soul.  A study of the Chandipath.
  • How outside forms are different but they all have the same thing on the inside.  How Birbal's daughter outwitted Akbar.
  • God's different roles and the different ways of seeing God.  A woman is a single identity but plays many roles in life.
  • A study of Shree Hari's discourse to Brahma in the Chattushloki Bhagavad in the second canto of the Shrimad Bhagavad about how the world is only there because the Supreme Soul is there.
  • A study of Shrimad Adi Shankracharya's Shapadi about how beings are born from God but God does not reside in beings.
  • How the world and everything around us can only be seen with the establishment and foundation of the Supreme Soul.  The example of the big screen projector.
  • Many people sit in front of God with expectations but some devotees come to God to ask God what God wishes for them to do.  A study of Shrimad Adi Shankracharya's prayers to Mataji (the Goddess Supreme) and Narsihn Mehta's bhajans (Divine Songs).
  • Wherever air goes, it still remains in the sky. Just like air remains in the sky, in the same way all creatures abide in the Supreme Soul.
  • The two natures of Purush (God) and Prakruti (nature).
  • A study of Newton's law of gravity about how the world works.
